It's SC1 in 3d and with achievements. If you want something new, don't buy it and yeah i think you need a constant connection, that or I just can't navigate the UI

I know this thread is fairly old, but I would recommend Starcraft 2 to anyone. It is around $60 but the game is really long and the online multiplayer will keep you busy for a while. It's definitely worth the price, and they are working on two more expansions. (zero and protoss based)
